It is with great regret that The Haywards Society will be closing as from 31 December 2019.

The current Executive Committe has run out of steam and regrettably there are no takers for a new Executive.

We would like to thank you all for the great support you have given over the years for the Society's involvement in so many community projects and initiatives.

Over the years we have been fortunate to enjoy the support of so many loyal supporters, many of whom worked tirelessly to make our town a better place to live.

Welcome to the Haywards Heath Society website

  • To make comments to the District Council on local planning and development issues
  • To make representation at Public Enquiries where local planning issues are concerned
  • To respond to national and local government consultation papers involving, for example, housing, environmental and transport policies
  • To publish newsletters
  • To arrange annual programmes of events: talks, walks and tours on interesting local themes and issues, given by experts in their fields

Further to the Public Meeting held on April 11 2018 to obtain residents' views as to the Future of Clair Hall, we have prepared a report incorporating views expressed on the night and those given on a widely circulated questionnaire. This report has been sent to MSDC and Haywards Heath Town Council and is available to see under the Current Issues tab above.
